I'll be very interested in reading your opinion of the D2 as I'm looking at dropping AT&T and my Berry for it as well. The Torch was...disappointing to say the least, and I don't see RIM making a Bold replacement this year.I just got one too today. So far I'm liking it. It will take me a few days to pick it apart. But so far so good.
Better than the evo eh? I guess as long as you're, still in the android family... Its all good.lol

Glad to see you're liking itI have almost finished my work day with the Droid 2. I have had the phone off the charger for about ten hours and I have 60 percent battery life left. That is really good. I was very nervous about the battery life. The phone is well built. Probably the most solid phone of have had. I'm enjoying the screen a lot. I done have to zoom in on text like I did with my Blackberry. The physical keyboard is decent. I like swype. It makes it easy to text and email while my phone rests on my desk. The phone is fast and responsive. The slider is secure. I have downloaded a ton of applications. I have been able to set up all my accounts without any problems. I like that it syncs with Picasa natively. Flash support is still clunky. Email is great. I just have the one gmail account, so I have no problems. It was the same on my EVO. Compared to my Blackberry, it is a definite winner. Compared to the EVO, it still wins. I'm really liking my decision.
I shouldn't sat it is better than the evo because there are obvious reasons why people would think the evo is better. I should say that the Droid 2 fits me better.
Thanks for the encouragement! If you make the Switch to the Droid 2 or Droid 2 Global you will defintely not be disappointed. I was in love with my OG Droid coming from BlackBerry let alone the Droid 2 devices.
Thanks for the encouragement!
I went ahead and pulled the trigger today![]()
Very good advice, but I'm not too new to android as a platformJust one bit of advice coming from an entirely different unit, give it a bit of time. When I first switched from an iPhone 3G I hated my Droid and was set on returning it and going iPhone 4. I calmed myself down and set the two side by side for a comparison and was blown away by how much better the Droid 2 was. I did the same tests at work with an iPhone 4 (a law firm - we provision them to users now sadly) and found the same results. The Droid does way much more and is still faster than the iPhone 4.
Anyhow, so give it some time. Coming to it anew can be a bit of a shell shock.

I was lurking this thread here on a humble and you guy have me thinking about going into the Droid 2 from my Droid X.
Exactly! I've noticed the exact same thing recently - I use my computer much less since getting the Droid 2.
