Hey guys, I just ordered a Pixel 4 XL and received it today. when I put it side by side by my Pixel 2 XL the colors are really washed out compared to the Pixel 2. I have it set to adaptive display. is there anything I'm missing here? I know on my Pixel 2 I had a saturated mode. Is that not on the Pixel 4?

Go to Settings > Display > Advanced > Colors. There are the 3 different settings.

yeah I did that. I have it set to adaptive. I even tried boost it. The color still look washed out compared to my Pixel 2. There's no setting for saturated

I had Saturated on my Z4 running Android 9. Maybe Google changed it around with Android 10?

Well I still have the saturated option on my Pixel 2 XL on Android 10. Not sure why they took it off for the Pixel 4?

Saturated is boost mode , I leave mine natural

Hey! So I have my pixel now. yeah, the colors still seem really washed out compared to the Pixel 2 screen. It's so strange. What is the adaptive mode mean
That's great you got it early
Adaptive probably goes between natural and boost base on content and lighting.

You have bluefilter on it anything?

I don't have any blue filter on. it's so weird, I have the unlocked Pixel 4 but it came with a bloatware from T-Mobile on it lol but it won't let me delete it

Only disable ...i have the unlock version from play store

What is your display brightness level set at?

Crank it up to 100% and both devices and *then* compare.

Yeah I tried that it's still the same. it's because the Pixel 4 does not offer saturated mode. I'm not sure if you could tell by this picture, but the phone on the left is the Pixel 2 and the phone on the right is the Pixel 4. You'll notice a lot more saturation in the face color on the Pixel 2. I just wish the Pixel 4 had a saturated mode. The boosted mode and adaptive mode are not the same as saturated.

It's hard to tell from the photo through my phone here but I can see a little more on the face on the left ..both look good to me ...but I find best for me not placing phones side by side ..they all have different feel and look to them this way ...totally understand you missing the saturated ...best advise I can give ya put that Pixel 2 away ...

Haha good point. I'm just waiting for the return package for the Pixel 2. I'm trading it in for some cash.

Nice ...I did some digging around and plenty others felt like you do that the colors are intentionally warmer on the newer phone without the saturated mode available...it was same for some pixel 3 owners as well from my findings ...

I noticed that too. I did some Google searching and found a lot of people feel this way. I just wish they would give you the option of having saturated if you want it

It would be nice to let people adjust additionally though ..why not have more choices ..
