I have been contemplating the purchase for a few months now, already had been a Chameleon backer on Kickstarter in anticipation. I already have an original iPad and have stopped using it due to the heft and my phone (HTC One X) does a decent job of letting me check Facebook and read Pulse. I am working on my doctoral project involving tablets as a method of upper extremity rehabilitation for individuals after suffering a stroke and the Nexus 7 just made sense from a therapy standpoint. Cheaper, smaller, lighter, and NFC for easy app/settings launching for users who may be cognitively impaired and struggle with using the device. It looks good so far, no screen lift or dead pixels. Glad to join the family!

I think they fixed the screen lift problem a few weeks ago. It was occurring with some regularity in the pre-production units and pre-order units from what I have read. The ones shipping out after those are fine. I've had mine for a couple of days and no issues.

U did the right thing in getting one... Welcome.....

absolutely true.. also to support that we are not seeing screen lift issue thread created by new nexus owners anymore.

Congratulations!
I got mine two days ago and I absolutely love it.
I don't even want to put it down to let it charge.
I hope your experience continues to be great!

Me too, just got one last week........my first tablet ever....love it....and my first post here

Welcome! Living in a home with several computers with varying operating systems and i-tablets and phones, I find my N7 to be my most used device overall due to convenient hand-held size, weight, readability, and ease of customization. Its utility far outstrips its cost.
