I was just messing around on my tb and was in the market checking a few things out and I backed out to do something. When I went back to the market it was the new UI that was leaked out not too long ago. Anyone else get it?

I have the new market but I absolutely hate it. I prefer a list to icons. I also see no "free app" category any more. Big ads wasting half the screen. Just more corporate greed. I can't imagine why anyone would.prefer this UI.

Is there any way to go to list view rather than icon view?

There is a free app category. After you pick apps or games you can then swipe left or right and go to different tabs like free or paid.

I do agree with you though on the new market on being more corporate.

I was just cruzing the Market on my PC. I usually don't "sign in" on the PC, but I did this time. One thing I noticed (and remembered) is that I never gave them my phone number. It's not required so I didn't give it to them. I wonder if this has any bearing on getting the Market update? Did you give them your phone number?

I don't even see a place to put in your phone number. I installed an app from the PC just to see if it still worked and it does. I don't have the new market either.

Unlikely. I have several devices all using the same Google account butonly one device (Droid3) has gotten the new market.

As for my opinion. I like the new market but see how those with smaller screens or slower phones will hate it. Don't expect to have an issue on my Thunderbolt.

I have not received the new market yet? Anyone else still waiting? Assuming it will be a slow rollout?

How did you get it? Did it magically appear? Or did you get something in the notification bar? Or, an "update" notice in the Market?

I got it early this morning. No notification. It was just all of a sudden updated. I had just been in the market (old) searching for something. A few minutes after I exited the market, I noticed the icon was different, which I had read that the new market icon was slightly changed.

Thanks. Strange the way they do that. :)

I just got it myself. I came on here and saw people talking about it so I checked it out. I still had the old Market. So I decided to hit the "Sync All" button, since I don't have my TB set to auto-sync. Lo and behold, the next time I went to the market I got the new one. So for anyone who has been having issues, you may want to try that. Hope it helps!

Hey, you're right. That made me get the new market too. Weird. Not that I really wanted it but had to try out the trick.

I would hate to have this market version on a older or 3G phone. It seems pretty data and graphic intensive. Even on my 16mbps 4G it takes forever to download all the little icons of the apps and what not. Switching from section to section is kind of choppy too.

I guess that could be the trick. Didn't work for me.

But.... the only thing I sync using GoogleSync is my calendar. I sync my Google Gmail and Contacts using ActiveSync, not Google sync. Maybe that's why it doesn't work for me. I dunno...

All market updates just show up unless you manually download a leaked APK. They are doing a very slow roll out on this one I think because it is such a radical change from the previous one.

Unless you want to rent movies for 4 bucks, I dont think you really want the new market anyway. Its slow....I don't like it. Not that I use the market much anyway but I could live without the new one!

Yeah, agree. That's gonna be my approach.
