I grabbed the X Performance on Saturday to use in tandem with my Passport.

Read a lot of bad reviews about the phone, took the plunge anyway. So far I am pretty happy. It's snappy, despite reviews of an unresponsive touchscreen, I have not experienced this. Camera takes some pretty nice shots. Antenna is definitely not as good as my Passport, that will take some adjusting to. Today will be telling for battery as I put it through my usual daily tasks.

Attached is my first shot with the camera. My happy mutt. Will update as the week goes by as I have not seen a lot of user reviews on this phone and it would have been of great help to me.

Cute pup! Keep us posted about how you like the phone. I'm curious. I want it to be an awesome device!

I will. I very nearly bought the older premium, what swayed me was how much sleeker this one looks. So far so good.

So three full days now using the X Performance as my primary device. I'm not going to comment on the battery life just yet as I like to give my phones a week to settle, suffice to say I'm easily getting through a day on a single charge (a very light usage day as I've been working outside not touching my phone at all for most of two days) with battery to spare.

I'm not sure why the US model had a disabled fingerprint sensor. It works on the first try almost every time. I'm quite impressed as I've seen my niece struggle with her Z5 using multiple fingers to try to get it to unlock. So, impressed how well this one works.

I've taken some pictures outside in overcast lighting. I find the pictures to be crisp and sharp and the camera to be responsive and quick. I like the physical camera button and the soft press to focus. Makes one handed pictures a breeze.

The screen is also crisp and the colours are vivid. I am having no issues with the placement of the buttons either. The power button is in the perfect spot for my thumb to hit it. Haven't really had much opportunity to play with the volume rocker. It might be weird for music but seems just right for video with the phone rotated sideways.

So, that's it after 3 days. I have not experienced any of the bad points in reviews that were making me initially hesitate.

Have not even managed to make this phone warm yet.

The true torture test will come next week while I'm at Comic Con in San Diego. Low light pictures, spotty signal and long days. Will try to keep updating.

I just scored the Experia X for $199 at best buy due to a bad experience with an associate. A manager got involved and offered to exchange my XA for the X even swap after him discounting the XA to $199. I'm posting this here bc I now wonder if I should have just went all in for the X Performance now. To be totally honest, I'm not seeing a whole lot of noticeable difference between the XA and my X which I just got today. Anyone have any advise or thoughts if I should exchange the X for the Performance? Anyone had experience with these two models first hand? These were my vert first ever Sony phones as I've used Apple for many years until now. Basically, the X replaced my iPhone 6s. Need some help. Very confused and not sure if I made a wrong decision going with the X rather the Performance

I ended up sticking with the X model. I've seen where they lowered the price into a better range for the phone. Even though I got my X for 199, I would have paid 350 to 400 for it. I've spent some real time with my X now and it's a very high end capable phone. Plenty quick and can handle heavy use or even watching movies on it. I've done that several times. The 1080p is vibrant crisp and clear. I love it. The size compared to my Nexus 6p is a huge difference. The X is great to use with one hand and slip into your pocket. My X isn't going anywhere.

Just got a Xperia x performance last night. Coming drom.BlackBerry dtek50. Finding the display too small. It's only small difference - 5" compared to 5.2". Tried the font size with small them its almost illegible. This is noticeable on tapa talk and BlackBerry Hub particularly.

Haven't taken any pictures yet. What else should I be looking for?
