Just not bright enough/glare?

Ive been noticing in the middle of a sunny day that its very hard to see the screen with the glass glare. I tried maxing brightness and turning on auto brightness but its not coming close to bright enough. I mean my iphone 3 and htc one m7 are a lot easier to see in the sun.
Anyone else having a issue?

I found the S6 Edge to be great in direct sunlight. Compared to the HTC M8, this phone has far better visibility. I have a screen protector over it, not sure if that helps much with glare.

I would, try putting a matte or anti-glare screen protector on the phone. That would help with the glare in direct sunlight.
