What steered you away from the V30?

I definitely will, and thank you! Though I really wanted the V30, I like smaller phones (my current one is 5.2") and am really into one-handed use now... Plus I missed the stock Android experience I got from my Nexus 5. Of course, I'm pretty sure the V30 has a one-handed mode; but I think the overall Pixel experience combined with my love of the hardware (I love bezels! Haha) sold me on it. Plus, I already had some Pixel 2 accessories!

Interested in the comparison of pixel2 xl and the galaxy s9 plus.

I had them side by side for a week. It was agonizing! They are both incredible phones! I love the hardware of the s9+, but I hate cases on my phones, so I knew eventually that sucker was gonna take a fall. The screen was beautiful. I even didn't mind the Sammy software too much. In the end, the pixel slightly edges the Sammy out in picture taking, and durability. That made my final choice, considering how much we are paying for these bad boys. I don't want another two hundred dollar bill down the road for a cracked screen or back.
