Ok so I was shopping for a new phone and it was a touch decision between the Iphone4, DINC2, and the Thunderbolt. I was leaning more towards the Iphone 4 since i have a MacBook Pro. I cancelled out the Thunderbolt since my only reason for that phone was 4g, but there is no 4g in my area yet so that would defeat the purpose. Amazingcelldeals.com had a deal where you get the Dinc2 for free, and... I don't think anyone can beat free so i ordered it today, should be here thursday. Anything i should know about this phone? Any apps i need to have? Is it worth rooting? Accessories that are recommended? any help would be awesome. Oh, I currently have the Moto Droid.

The bootloader is locked - nobody has gotten root yet. Thus there's not much happening in the dev community.

The speakerphone is quiet and tinny and crappy. A sacrifice on an otherwise great overall phone.

East and West are reversed in some map/nav-based apps.

There is a small handful of accessory discussions in the accessory subforum at the top of this section.

Apps are the same as any Android.

That site definitely seems scammy. Free phones and no strings, huh? I'll be interested to see how that works out. Hey wait did I just bite on spam bait?

Are you sure you selected the Inc2? I just went on this website and for me it's showing the Inc2 for $79.99. The Inc is free.

Alright so i just got my Dinc2 in today. I had to call and he walked me through it, anyway, I set up my phone, i used the same email as i use on my droid to register... not sure if that is going to cause any problems in the future. The phone feels really awesome in my hand. Haven't played too much with it. I tried to use 3g hotspot but then realized i had to pay, called verizon and it's 20 a month, screw that, tethering for now. I don't think i will be getting a case or screen protector for it. Are there any apps that will allow me to use hotspot for free? I still need to play with the phone for a bit and try and figure out how to really use it.

I use Qik with my wife on her iPhone. Works well, even on 3G.
