...and it's the "new" 16GB model. For whatever reason, they're marketing a 16GB model now - same phone without the SD card. Price from VZW online: $99

I'll give it the 14 day soak test, but after reading about people's "issues" in the past and the reports of the results of the software updates - I have high hopes.

Its a pretty sweet phone.fast and a very nice screen.Swype is really awesome on the big keyboard too.

The original Bionic has 32GB of internal memory plus a 16GB SD card. The "new" Bionic only has 16GB of internal memory.

Well, it's between the 16gb internal + 16gb microSD or the 16gb internal + no microSD card...I ordered the 16gb-only version on wireless.amazon.com at the upgrade price of $49.99 - should be in my hands by Monday!

Initially I was not very happy with the Bionic but after rooting, updates, extended battery and eliminating bloat it is turning out be a great phone. Actually considered the Razr Maxx but after playing with it I realized I pretty much had the same phone but in a form factor that I like better...(Razr is very wide and the cut corners looks funny).

Which Bionic had 32GB of internal memory? I got it on day 1 and it is only 16GB internal plus a 16GB card.

Bionic sucks lemons. I had data drops, calls, and nothing but headaches. Got it swapped out for razr solid data and phone love the phone. Bat life not that bad get in car car charger get to office wall or usb charger

So far so good - this phone rocks. 8 MB download on first test in a mediocre 4G signal. Loading all my apps from the market took about 5 minutes - something like 22 apps. I'm a happy camper.

Verizon just replaced mine with a Rezound. Now I have some Bionic accessories that I can't use. If anyone wants to talk to me about them, send me a pm.

How is the Rezound. I got a Bionic on luanch day, returned it and tried several HTC phones (DInc, DInc2 and Rezound) and went back to the Bionic.

I had trouble with bluetooth and GPS fix -- both took forever to connect. Also missed the performance outside in the sun (I have a 20 minute walk as part of my commute).

What is your experience with the Rezound?

Scott

I haven't received the Rezound in the mail yet. Should be here tomorrow. I loved my Inc2, GPS worked great on that device. Never gave me any problems. The Bionic isn't bad performing, it was just dropping data like crazy after the 902 update. It also dropped data on 866, and a little bit less on 893. I got kind of fed up with the data drops. Verzion told me that the Rezound was bug free pretty much and I loved my Inc2, so I decided to go with that. I hope it doesn't have issues in the sun light, but it seems like a solid device.

I have the same problem with my bionic and the second one they sent me the charging port died on it. It took forever for me to get them to give me a Rezound that too with out a battery or back cover at least verizon has a sale on the batter and cover.

Yea I contacted them about five times and told them I was going to file a complaint with FCC if they didn't send me a different model device. They finally sent me the Rezound. They said that device isn't experiencing any data drop issues, hopefully that is true.

Ya they were not budging in fact they told me I had to wait till monday for them to order the phone then I called again and the next person did it right away and told me I should expect to see the phone on tuesday. The frustrating thing is I have a ton of extras for the bionic. As soon as I get the Rezound and mail back the bionic I plan on craiglisting all of my extras.

I have a bunch of accessories too. Lapdock 100, dock, cases. I wish they could just make a lapdock that works with all devices.

On a side note sorry to hi jack the thread OP. Bionic isn't bad if you don't get the data drops like we did. Get on Verizon's case, if you do.

No problem! I'm appreciating the conversation...I'm still in the learning stages. Can you describe a data drop to me? I think I may have just had one :( Showed 2 bars of LTE but no data connection.

Yes, that is what was happening to me, but like three times a day. Reception for calls and texts usually doesn't cut out, just the data for internet. Sometimes it will come back after a minute by itself, sometimes you will have to reboot the phone, sometimes you will have to turn the phone off and remove battery and sim and put them back in. I found the "Restart Connections" app from the market to usually kick the data back in when it drops out.

Motorola acknowledged this issue from release of the phone. They said that updates would fix the problem. So far I have received 2 updated. One made the issue a little better, and the latest 902 update made it terribly worse. I have kind of lost my faith in Moto.

To be honest, if you are within the 14 day window and start to get a lot of these data drops, I would return it for something else, if it becomes bothersome. Some people can deal with these drops but it became irritating to me. I do not know if any other 4g phones are better. The Bionic is the first 4g phone I have had, but from what I am being told half of the other 4g phones have the same problem. The Rezound is suppose to not have this data drop problem at all, but I don't know from experience because mine isn't here yet. Edit: My girl has the Razr and it seems to be working ok too.

I love my Droid Bionic! I'm pretty sure you'll love yours too! I'm not much of a phone tech, but the "smartphone" is working fine with me! I purchased a lot of accessories to accommodate my phone. :)
