Don't get me wrong, I like the DB specs. I guess i'll never understand this feverish compulsion to be the first to own one. I'll wait a few months. besides my smartphone still works great.....

^ Yeah I just realized they did charge my debit card , i'm just a ******. I didn't get an order # so I'll try get through to someone to get my order # although I guess everyone is trying to call right now to order. Hopefully Verizon isn't an ass and stops them from going through.

I only waited about 3 or 4 minutes to get through.

GOOD INFO FOR PEOPLE WHO ORDERED, BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED EMAIL CONFIRMATION OR FEDEX TRACKING NUMBER:

Well, I never received an order confirmation email or Fedex tracking email, so I decided to call *611 again to check the status and ask for my tracking number. After hitting zero a couple of times thinking it would bring me right to a CSR, the automated system asked me to state why I was calling. So, I said "Check Order Status". It understood and ultimately spoke my Fedex tracking number to me AND sent a text to my phone with the tracking number. I thought that was pretty cool and easy. Didn't even have to speak to a CSR.

Anyway, I checked the tracking number and my Bionic shipped today and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow by 10:30am. Can't believe they didn't somehow screw it up, ha ha. Very happy.

Im so mad, I told the lady overnight shipping, she gave me 2 day according to the FedEx email I just got. I hate people sometimes, she said it'd be here tomorrow by 3 and now it's Friday. It's just one day but I shouldn't have went thru the trouble of calling this morning if people cant do their job right.

I ordered at 9am, got confirmation it shipped at 11am, but won't get it till before 7pm on Friday. That's a Memphis,TN to Maryland shipment. I doubt I could get it expedited at this point though.

I'm in the same boat as you are. I tried to get overnight shipping when I ordered it but the telesales guy told me it wasn't available since the phone wasn't supposed to be released until tomorrow. I even called back to talk to someone else to see if they could add it to my order but she said the only way I could do that was to refuse the initial order, let it get back to Verizon, then re-order the phone. I don't think she realized doing that would defeat the purpose of me trying to get faster shipping in the first place. My order is also showing a delivery date of 9/9/11 before 7pm.

Got mine ordered. They are shipping it overnight for free, be here Friday morning. Costco deal was not looking as good... They hadn't even got the shipment in yet at my Costco.

Oh and I had to call *611 twice. The first lady said the phone was not on sale until Friday, the second lady hooked me up, and didn't even hesitate with the order.

I wasn't able to order it over the phone, so gonna use my online discounts to get it at 12! I wonder if there is a way to pick the phone up from a store instead of getting it shipped if you order it online. I want instant gratification!

Ordered mine about 10 minutes ago. I will be certain of it once i get the email with the tracking number. For now i have an order number.

I dialed 611 from my phone just as mapexonly did.

I have called *611 three times and have received pretty much the same response from each of the store reps that I have spoken too. I can't order the phone until the 8th.

Was told it would not ship until Thursday when I got tracking number seven hours after order was placed it was shipped today delivery tomorrow by 3. Pleasant surprise.

Thanks. I want to also order it online because I a discount available. With my luck Fedex would require a signature on Friday when it would be due to arrive and since I work all day I won't be able to get it until Monday!

so glad I checked the forum out, called up earlier and got mine ordered w/ overnight delivery and I was supposed to get a credit for early discount from my company discount, instead they gave me credit for an accessory so I got the otterbox defender case! my droid x is going up on the auction block / trade-in for a pretty penny w/ all the stuff I have for it. the droid x served me well, but times are changing, 4G here I come!

I was told when I placed my order this morning that it would be shipped out tomorrow. Just as a shot in the dark, I dialed*611 and did the "check order status" as others here have stated and actually got my tracking number. Come to find out it shipped out this evening and I will have it by 10:30 tomorrow morning via UPS. All of this without so much as a email or text from Verizon...

Ah, I finally called 611 rather than customer sales/service. They ordered me my phone AND, more importantly, restored my unlimited data plan I had until mid August until the original Droid took a nosedive. Really happy they did that, phone will probably be here Friday since I called so late, right?

Pumped.

ETA: It gets better...because I went from the VX8300, which I had to stomach for 3 weeks, I get a $100 gift card. So the Bionic cost me about 212 bucks. Homerun.

There was mention of an 'Unlimited Mobile Hotspot' plan for $30 to folks that were already grandfathered into unlimited data on their devices. Has anyone been able to 100% confirm this? I can't find any reference to it and the one lady I spoke to at VZW today (611) didn't know of anything like that being unlimited. I'm hoping she was just one of the clueless ones, as i'd genuinely consider it if it was unlimited for $30 ($25 with corporate discount).

Ugh, Verizon is driving me crazy. First I order the phone, then I call back and get told that it will not ship until tomorrow most likely, so I cancel order, which takes some time I guess. Then I get notification from Fed Ex that phone was not only picked-up, but is not in transit.

What the heck, can't anyone on Verizon get on the same page?

Dude, I created an account just to let you know how stupid this statement YOU made sounds. I ordered mine pretty much around the same time you ordered and the rep told me mine would arrive on Friday. Because FedX picked it up 28mins after I ordered it is in their truck which if it hit my doorstep today 9/8 it would be a gift, but the sales rep told me Friday, and the FedX tracking order says FRIDAY. If you called at 6am EST then you would probably get it on the 8th just like the guy who started this post. Cancelling was just plain stupid Dude.
