Google said that the retail stores aren't getting it, they will be the sole seller of the Nexus Player for the time being. Retail stores were supposed to receive their units on November 2nd but they later corrected themselves and reversed that information.

The Nexus Player was taken down from the store as it didn't pass FCC clearance but it should go back up here anytime now. I missed the first pre-order opportunity as it happened during my commute home. I don't know why Google waited until ~2:30 PM EST to put it up for pre-order but, by the time I got home, they took it down since the FCC was holding them up.

I think I'll wait to see what happens in November though. I really don't want to pay $114 for a new streaming device that should only cost me ~$104 including tax. That $10 shipping is kind of ridiculous, especially for people who are pre-ordering it. I have a feeling that someone, like Best Buy, will end up being the "exclusive" retail store for it. That's how it worked with the Moto 360 and they are getting all the other new Nexus products.

It's not "in stock", but it just cleared the FCC so it's back up for preordering.

I preordered it anyway ate the shipping costs but I was already charged for it as it shows a pending charge on my bank statement. It said when I ordered it that I will only be charged after it is shipped.

honestly trying being in Canada for some of this stuff. Trust me you are fortunate. $114 is nothing! I have to pay $10 extra because we are ohh so far north (absolute garbage) then $17 for shipping, and $16.38 for taxes. Total is $142. I really want to get this but that's a stupid price to have to pay when I could walk into any store here and pick up a roku or apple tv for $30 cheaper. Common Google! At least Microsoft gives us a break with free shipping.

I'm just annoyed because I would really like to try this thing out.
