Just realized. Kinda dumb design.

I was wearing my Razr in it's Verizon case today, It was hooked to my pants. And I noticed how all the connections face up and are susceptible to getting full of dust and whatever. I guess I will wear it upside down if I need to. Just thought it was not the best place for them.

We were discussing this in a different thread. I think the ports on the top are great. When I'm in the car my phone is in the cup holder, for which the top ports are perfect. It can also rest sideways in the dock or on a night stand and the wires never get in the way.

From that standpoint they are located where they should be. it would be nice if they could have a cover on them when not in use.

It's really just a personal preference. There is no right or wrong locations.

I agree that the ports are great for sitting in the dock. I actually really like how they set it all up. Maybe some third party company will come along and make covers for the ports. I'm surprised something like that isn't out already. Maybe other phones have to go that direction first.

Prefer the charge connection on bottom, just because if I want to use the phone while charging the chord is out of the way.

I like where they are at but agree not ideal place because of the chance of getting water and dirt in them. I did see rubber plugs somewhere for the 3.5 and micro usb but not the hdmi.

Either has a problem. Most USB connections are pretty loose, so on the bottom, it risks falling out. But on top, when you're charging and trying to talk on the phone, yes it's still a phone...it's pretty awkward.

Yeah, that's true. But if I had a choice I'd have them on top for the reasons I stated above. That's just my preference though.
