Anyone else get the update? Any idea what it does? Couldn't find the answer anywhere...

Thanks

Is that why I'm seeing an unfamiliar icon at the upper left of my screen? It looks like a partial outline of a rectangle with a swoopy green arrow coming up from the lower right corner.

That would be the update notification, yes. The only thing I can find that it did clearly was make the notification bar clear. Granted I haven't hunted through but that I did notice.

I agree. That icon went away after the update installed. I haven't noticed any change in performance.

I'm psyched about the transparent notification bar. I was kicking around a different launcher just to get that feature and now i'm set!! Seems odd though that thats all the update did.....I know there is probably behind the scenes stuff, but to throw in the transparent bar to a nuts and bolts update is super random.....

Mine updated this morning, it is android 4.1.2 jelly bean update. Samsung started rolling this out to note 8 devices yesterday.

Uh, note 8 has had 4.1.2 since release. This just another 4.1.2 firmware update.

I've been looking for a changelog but to no avail. I think Sammy is staying tight lipped with what the changes are. I'd imagine they were the same as the 3G variant which is only listed as "stability update" and noticeably the transparent status bar. Other than that I got nothing.

I found that since today's update, the multi window dock with the tab on the left side of the screen will NOT go away. It used to by pressing the back button on the bottom of the device. Now it doesn't go away at all. I don't want this, and I don't want to turn off multi window support.

This is an Instagram video I made of it:
