Everything is fine with my new TB but the thing that surprised me was that they sent me a whole box, absolutely new.

So it came with a new TB, pre-installed 32 GB card, battery and charger.

Now it also came with a small return envelope and I thought how am I going to het the TB and charger in this package? So I called.

The rep said that I actually keep the charger and both 32 GB cards. I only have to send back the phone and battery.

I can't believe they are letting me keep both the card and charger.

this is standard. i had to get a replacement from verizon on my incredible last year and this was the same policy. they only care about getting the phone back (and maybe battery, not sure on that). they didn't care about the back cover or anything else.

@brown - Just curious, what prompted you to send the phone back through Asurian? Couldn't you just bring the phone back to VZW store and exchange it if you had an issue?

yea they do that in the beginning for the high end phones...happened to me when i got my evo

Same here.

The insurance isn't through Verizon, it's throw a 3rd party, so you have to send the phone back to them in the envelope they provide...which is a pretty tight fit, honestly.

hmm i never thought about the lte sim card. probably would have to keep yours because it is tied to your account? (at least i think the sim cards are tied to an account)

So do you always have to pay a deductible if you are filing a claim about defects? Something like the light leaking?

When I purchased my insurance through VZW (which I believe is handled by Assuron) I was told that you cannot file an insurance claim based on a manufacturing defect. That is a warranty item. The insurance is for loss, stolen, damaged (dropped, etc).

I dropped the phone and the screen cracked in the lower left corner even though I had a silicon protector around it. Verizon wouldn't take it back. I had to make a claim.

Up until a few years ago when you filed a claim with Asurion they just sent you a new phone and charged a $50 deductible to replace your old one under your insurance and only allowed you one claim per year. Then they increased the deductible to try and curb the amount of phone claims and when that didn't work, they jacked the price up again and then started to request phones to be returned. I wouldn't be surprised if someone claimed the phone was lost of stolen that they request a police report filed.

People will place claims with the insurance company for dust under their screens or some other warranty based claim after the 15 or 30 day grace period to avoid getting a refurbished unit under warranty. Because of this we all pay when we have a legitimate claim like a broken screen (like the original poster) or lose our phones.

Note to everyone: this is why our phone insurance goes up. *headdesk*

Lol yup. And people playing friggin Xbox 360 or ps3 over 4g and or cancelling their home internet and tethering their connection to their home PC permanently is why we are headed to tiered data. Thanks a**holes....
