Hey all,

Long time BB user, first time DROID user. I ordered my Incredible 2 today and it should arrive tomorrow. I had been a frequent participant over at CB.com and even ran my own blackberry site which specialized in BB modifications (hybrids) for a while. It took me a while to accept the fact that Blackberry just couldn't deliver what I wanted anymore but I couldn't be happier with the fact that I took the leap to droid. I know... my device hasn't even arrived yet, but I already feel semi-liberated! Looking forward to all this community has to offer.

So whether you knew me in a past life (read: device) or this is your first time seeing my avatar, just wanted to drop in and say Hi! You'll probably be seeing me more often than not now :)

Will

Just converted from a Storm 2 myself (was over at CB.com as well). Great move. You'll love the Dinc2.

Welcome. I was a hardcore BB fanboy myself. It's a shame they didn't wanna keep up with technology.

I just got my Dinc2 yesterday. Overall I am loving even though there is a lot to get used to and I am not sold on the battery life yet. However, features galore.

From my understanding the battery life on the inc2 is much better than the majority of other Android phones on the market today.

I am sure batt life will only improve once custom ROM's become as mature as they are for other devices

after a 9 hour workday (including my 1 hour lunch) with moderate internet usage, some game play and watching videos on youtube, i would still have about 65% of battery life left. when you get your phone, download the HTC Battery widget. it shows you how much battery life you have in milliVolts and percentage.

Welcome! I came from a long line of BB's also, most recently a Storm2. So far I am loving it.

Battery life is great. I can easily get 30 hours out of it.

Very true. But what do we do till then? And it's not like a custom ROM will double battery life. I am considering giving this thing back within the 14 days so I am not stuck with it for two years. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the phone. But I can't have a cell phone that wont even last a day. If the battery life on this thing was good I would go ahead and say I am more than happy to keep it till I am up for another upgrade in two years.

And here I say a prayer for better battery life today :)

This phone certainly can last all day (and then some). There are many people, including myself, that easily surpass 24 hours of battery life. I had some wifi settings set incorrectly (at least for optimal battery life) that made it hard for me to last the day, so I can understand the frustration But after correcting that, the battery life has been superb.

I have never even turned my wifi on though. :(

Welcome. I am new here too after also giving up on BB. The DInc2 has been excellent so far. The battery life is great (I charge every night anyhow but I could go longer with fairly heavy use including calls, texts, email, and an occasional game or other app) and, you will appreciate that you no longer need to do regular battery pulls just to keep the phone operating. ;) I needed to complete a battery pull every few days on the BB. As you know, there are great people over at CB but the same is true here. Enjoy the new phone.

Welcome! Just like many people here, I came to Android from BB (S1) and, while I loved the concept of what BB was delivering, it did unfortunately fall behind. Had a Dinc 1 first, and loved it, even though battery life was horrible. Now I have a Dinc 2, and the phone is a total improvement over the first gen. Including battery life. I agree, battery life on average is less than a BB, but its not hard to keep a charger at work or in the car if I travel. Wouldn't go back. Sounds like you have a dev background, so I think it's safe to say you're extremely welcome here. Just like the devs over on CB, the ones here are able to do pretty much anything they want, with enough time. Hope you enjoy your new phone!
