What a great phone, I picked it over the EVO for a few reasons, one of which I have now found I don't need, the keyboard. So I wonder, are there any one piece rubberized case/skins out there that encase the entire thing like the ones for non-slider phones? Those 2 piece hard plastic things are crappy so right now I just slip it in a little neoprene bag in my pocket to keep it protected.

I actually do use the keyboard and I like the 2-piece hard plastic cases. Seido has the best one in my opinion (Platinum rebrand at Best Buy or original if purchased online).

Could have waited for the transform... looks to be a keyboardless version coming soon. Th picture shows th front facing camera was still on board... no word on 4g

Transform confirmed by Sprint Tech Manager yesterday as we were discussing my battery issues.

It has come up in meetings, no exact timeframe, but guessing mid October.
He said stripped down Epic, same screen, no slider,no 4G, but no details on processor or speed. So looks the same, smaller form factor.

I am going to look at it, I do not use the keyboard so would like size, and have no idea of when we will get 4g nor if I want to use it on my battery sucking phone (closer to getting it managable), but seriously could care less about it and would rather not be paying $10 a month for something I don't have and don't plan to use. If this date is right, its within my 30 day swap out. But will not do so if it is a slower speed, mid range processor.

I am spoiled by the Epic screen and capabilities, so will pay before I slow down.

Oh and back to the original thread - I went to phone accessory store in mall and found one that is close from another phone. I am boater, and want something to keep water and shock from affecting. Its not the prettiest, but it is effective and that was my point. Its also not as large as two extra pieces on phone.

Oh, I like the keyboard and all, but for the first time ever, I have found an onscreen keyboard that I can actually use well, so don't need it. I couldn't really wait for a different phone, I was on my 5th Pre, and it was having issues that I just didn't want to deal with anymore, so I pulled the trigger on the Epic.
I might look into the Transform as I have another upgrade next month, if it had the same specs, minus the keyboard, I would pass my Epic on to my wife and get it instead.
I will look into the accessory kiosks that seem to be in every mall and see if I can find something that will work for now.

I think the Transform is supposed to have a lower camera as well. that's one reason why I didn't return my epic even though I miss my Pre.

I also upgraded from my Pre to and Epic!

And couldn't be happier will still by the next palm/hp phone but the hardware sold me and Android won me over! Right now this is the best smartphone available! The keyboard is great I highly recommend using it!

Did you know you can control the entire phone in landscape mode using only the keyboard? Try it its cool and keeps the finger prints down to keep the gorgeous screen smug-less:cool:

Ya don't miss my pre yet. WebOS did some things really well, but lacking in others. And no faith in Palm/HP at this point for hardware.

I loved the Pre. While webOS was great, the hardware sucked.

I love the Epic and the apps are great. Android beats Palm's app selection and the Epic is super fast.

I too came from a pre (had a moment for a bit before the epic) and I am happy! The only issues I can say at this time are updating after removing bloatware, and sometimes the end button in phone calls wont work right away.

As for accessories the only place I have been looking is siedio and that's for the extended battery (worked wonders for my pre). So I cannot help with a case.
