1. It will wipe my phone, the same as a factory reset.

2. Titanium Backup and Google will collaborate backing up all my "stuff." Titanium, I have to run a batch and Google magically does it....magically.

3. Download the GB file and the new ROM. One of these gets installed before the other or something.

.......

26. Somehow the Google stuff will show up in the "new GB phone", restore from titanium backup all the other stuff.

27. Now that this "new" stuff is installed, I can expect better battery life, faster phone, more features, bigger muscles, I get richer, world peace, Obama gets voted out, etc.

Fill me in on the specifics on the stuff I missed. Is the Das BAMF 2.0-5 "safe" now, meaning no:

You are currently rooted, yes?

OK...First off, check my guide on backing up apps and data:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/thu...store-apps-data-when-installing-new-roms.html

NOTE: The whole "Google magic" will only happen if you have it set to backup and restore under "Settings > Privacy"

The next piece of info we need to know is what OS your currently running. By "Factory Root", I'm assuming you're running a pre-MR2 leak version of Froyo? (1.12.605.6 or 1.13.605.7)?

If so, then you need to install BOTH the new radio AND the BAMF 2.0-5 ROM.
Just to be clear, this is the radio you want:
[Radio] [Leak] Official MR2 Radio 1.39.00.0508w, 0.01.69.0510w_3 - xda-developers
(I'm also assuming this is what you mean by "GB file" in step 3 in your original post.

The radio, which is flashed in HBOOT, must be done independently of the the ROM.

I have yet to install one of the GB ROMS, so I also have yet to do this...perhaps someone else can chime in with more specific instructions. From what I've read, it seems most people flash the ROM in recovery (after doing factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik), then, once it's finished, pull the battery and boot into HBOOT (hold "Vol-" while pressing power button to boot), and installing the new radio.

No matter what order you do it in, you want to be sure to
1. Check the MD5s of your radio and ROM file before you begin
2. Remove the radio "PG05IMG.zip" file from the root of your SD card once the entire process is finished.

Seriously though, don't start the process until all your questions have been answered.

If the whole upgrade to GB seems complicated, perhaps try flashing one of the Froyo-based ROMs first, just to get a feel for the process without having to worry about swapping radios. I'm running BAMF 1.7 REMIX and loving it. (Waiting for stability with the GB ROMs...but I'm getting pretty close to flashing one)

I have 1.12.605.6

UPSTREAM helped me through the root a few months ago.

I have removed the PG05IMG.zip file from the initial root process as well.

Google backup is checked.

Let's just start with the BAMF 1.7 REMIX.

All I have to do is backup everything, download the new rom, then reboot with the volume button process and boot in to recovery and flash that one.

With the BAMF 1.7 REMIX, I don't need a new radio, right?

No need for a different radio for das BAMF 1.7.

Right, no need for new radio.

To boot into recovery, the easiest way is to go to ROM manager and select, "reboot in recovery" (don't install ROM from ROM manager). The volume button trick boots you into HBOOT.

Just be sure to do the wipes first, then install the ROM
