Just upgraded from galaxy s8 to s7...

hiya guys,

hope this is the right place, been a galaxy owner for years but only just thought of joining like minded people on a forum.

today i traded in my s8 for in store vouchers at my local CEX store (UK) and used them to get a shiny new (second hand) s7

iv had many s devices and after "upgrading" to the s8 i now after 4 ish month have decided i cant get on with it.

the screen ratio feels strange, like its too tall and thin
the touch id button on the back is fiddly to operate blind and when the phone is layed down im fed up of having to keep lifting the phone up to get in it
the iris scanner is ok but is rubbish in bright sunlight and only works around 2 out of 3 attempts.

i missed my s7, it has a home button! lol everything worked great and the screen was flat so screen protectors would sit nicely.

so yeah, i get my new/old s7 tomorrow and im actually excited!

I also prefer the 16/9 ratio. I don't remember-does the S7 have ir blaster or was the last one with that feature the S6?

No IR Blaster on the S7 line.

Thanks. I may have considered picking one up cheap if it had the feature. I guess the S6 was the last.

I like being able to put the S7 in my front pocket, it meets all my needs and paired with my S3 Frontier watch

Good move, I'll be into my S7 for years. Nothing out there excites me, in fact I think the phones are going in the wrong direction. Maybe the Essential Phone 2 but we're a ways from that now.
