I tried that myself, and the Home swipe still only brings me back to the last homescreen I was on. That's the case even if I change to 3 button nav.

If I do a Home swipe gesture a 2nd time, it will sometimes bring me to my default homescreen, but that can be very finicky -- it has to be a very short swipe up from the little bar at the bottom.
I just assigned the double tap on the screen to take me to default home screen. It works fine. I'll just have to get used to it. If not, then I'll just go back to the Pixel launcher.

Works for me on my Fold 4

I just tested it on the P7P and it does not work from within an app.. if you swipe up from another screen that's not the default screen it will take it to the default...
Yeah so what happens if your in another app and u swipe up it takes u to recent apps then swipe up again default home screen, buttons might work better then gesture

If I swipe up and hold yes I will see the recents.. if I swipe up directly from the app all the way through it will take me to the last screen on the launcher

The Pixel launcher, you can swipe up from the pill and it will take you to the default page. Any third party launcher, this doesn't work. I'm aware that you can enable the swipe up gesture from anywhere on the screen or from the dock, but you can't enable the swipe up from the pill to take you to the default page. I wish there was a way to return to the default home page on the launcher when you exit an app.

I know this is miniscule, but it's a pet peeve of mine. For the time being, I'll just get used to swiping up from an empty space on the screen to return to the default page.

I only use one screen so never noticed the action from Nova ...maybe we can reach out to Nova development to notify ..seems like an easy fix IMO

If you go to Settings>System>Gestures>Press and Hold Power Button, you can turn the Hold for Assistant toggle off. That makes the long-press of the Power button bring up the Power menu.

.

My Mom and I thank you! You'd think they would tell you that! It was 1 of her only complaints after I set up her P7, I thought, exactly like her P3a. "Power" was probably the default on the P3a but now, Give it a Goog 7 ways to Sunday!

Really like the tap to wake feature and used it all the time on the S21(double tap) but was forced to turn it off right away on the pixel, maybe I'll revisit it after updates.

Not using a screen protector. It's very obvious, the swiping issue. I don't know how I can explain it. There has been video's on you tube of it so I figured it was something that would just get fixed. On my S21 I can just flick the screen, real quick swipe and it goes 1 thing over. I guess like a Page Up/Page Down type of deal. Pixel it jitters 1/2 way there and goes back to the current screen or if the swipe is just enough it over scrolls too far.

When I put my phone screen down on a flat surface it kind of triple vibrates after a second. When I pick it up it single vibrates. I tried to Ninja real quick look at the screen when I pick it up and there is some icon up by the "At a Glance" but it goes away immediately. what is this?

Yes, i guess that's it telling me "do not disturb" is turned on and off. I had that turned on thinking it acted like a Samsung where flipping it declined a call or shut an alarm off. Thanks again

So I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 plus. I also have an iPhone pro max 13. I have been tempted by the Pixel 7 Pro since launch. However I didn't want to spend the money and have two good phones. I am rather entangled in the Apple ecosystem.

However I bought my iphone through Bestbuy locked to t mobile and traded in a iPhone 11 pro max and paid the difference. I have been on T mobile for over two years and used the iPhone for over a year. I meet all the unlock requirements. I wanted to switch to a cheaper carrier with unlimited data. So I began the process to unlock my iphone. Now almost a month later and countless hours with T-Mobile customer service and I am not closer to unlocking the phone than when I began.

So I saw the holiday sale after the Black Friday sale. I decided to check the value of my iphone for trade and with the sale price the Pixel 7 Pro is basically free.

So I bought the Pixel 7 Pro and set up a trade for my iphone. I was hesitant because my Pro Max has been a great phone and it is the last iPhone with a physical sim.

So I got the Pixel 7 Pro in obsidian yesterday afternoon. I have yet to put a sim card in it but have set it up. I was impressed with the process of getting apps and texts from an iPhone onto the Pixel.

So the 7 Pro is pretty nice. I am not a fan of curved screens because I like to use tempered glass screen protector and I am not sure how I am going to do that with this phone.

It has been since Pixel 4a since I had a Pixel. A lot has changed since then and after using oneUI and iOS it really feels different.

So far the fluidity and speed are on par with my iphone and Galaxy S22 plus. The curve on the screen is not so bad. The screen itself is very nice although it could be a bit brighter.

I really like the unusual design of the phone. The camera bar and shiny glass make it very different from everything else. The smoother glass does make the phone super slippery so a case seems like a must but the build quality is very good.

I have read a lot about the Tensor G2 and there have been a lot of criticism about it. I was worried that performance would be sub par. I think that it would be nice for Google to focus both on performance and AI or Tensor but so far it seems fast and battery life is good.

The speech recognition software is really amazing and one of the stand out features for me. The UI animations are really nice and well thought out.

The camera system seems really good. The speakers could use a bit of volume but are decent.

Really considering the cost and build quality I am very happy with the phone. I am worried to not have an iPhone because a lot of family use FaceTime and share photos with airdrop and use iMessage. I know there are some work around but some functionality will be missing.

However I think this is the best Pixel Google has ever made and so far no big bugs to speak of. Now if we can get a Google tablet and a really nice Pixel Chromebook with updated specs or maybe even a PC with windows but with enhanced Google software I would be really happy.

Google needs to have it's own ecosystem that works well together with a series of different devices. But for now I am very happy with the 7 Pro. My S22 is great and I like the customization of oneUI but I hate all of the bloat.

Also my plus has a 1080p screen which by itself is fine but compared to the Pixel using 1440p looks a little washed out.

Battery life is better so far on Pixel than the S22 plus as well.

Wow, that's a great review, especially coming to Pixel from 2 excellent handsets... Enjoy

Great review. I traded my S22+ in for the 7 Pro. It is a far superior phone than the Plus was. At least that was my experience. I don't miss all the customization of One UI. Nor the bloat. I've gotten used to the curved screen but I miss the flat screen on the plus.

I have an S22 Ultra from work that I dual sim. So I haven't upgraded a personal device in a while. I might be switching jobs though so I've been debating on just getting a Pixel 7 pro as it's quite a bit cheaper than the S22 Ultra. I have used the s pen a couple timea but think I could do without. I do have some good lock customization but also think I might be ok without them. One of the main things drawing me to the Pixel is the camera and I did love the original Pixel when I had it.

It's good to see that some of you guys have had positive experiences switching from Samsung to Google.

My biggest worries are the modem on the Pixel 7 Pro but it seems it's better than the 6 pro.

My 7 Pro signal strength has been much better than my S22 plus was. Places where my S22 plus would drop wifi, my 7 Pro stays connected.
