Just...WOW...massive speed increase using ART cache

I am a custom rom guy and apparently art doesn't work on deodexed roms which most if not all custom roms are.

Sounds like most are having good experiences with it. My phone gets here tomorrow and I'll turn it on for a bit and see what the buzz is about.

I've always been a custom ROM guy myself, but decided to let my N5 run KitKat as is for a while. With ART, this thing is so fast/responsive, I don't see a desire to **** around with ROMs at all. The only thing you might miss is some of the customizations that come with a ROM. But with all the apps out there (including power houses like Tasker), I'm thinking I can live without these as well.

Eventually they all will. This is a beta, not an experiment. This is the future of all Android.

It has to do with licensing issues with oracle, not just speed improvements. So it is going to happen. Just a matter of when.

I went ahead and emailed the TiBu dev about this. Probably a good thing to do with any apps we find that fc.

I was the same and agree. Hopefully xposed framework will soon be kitkat compatible and ART compatible. This will allow you to do many of the things ROMs do.

I guess I will turn art on AFTER I do the titanium restore from my n4. I guess I will keep it stock for a few days. Most of the custom stuff is stockish anyways.

I'm waiting for Whatsapp to be updated so that it doesn't crash anymore on ART. I used ART the first day or so and had no issues other than Whatsapp.

I also tried ART and whatsapp would not launch have rolled back to Dalvik and whatsapp is working again. All other apps were fine.
