Anyone know how to change the signature and notifications on k9 mail? I've tried going under notifications and everything. It has to be something right under my nose! Ok I figured out the notifications. Just still struggling with the siggy......

From the K9 inbox press the soft menu key<More<Settings<Account Settings<Sending Mail<Composition Defaults

me again.....it k9 a program that runs all the time? My battery was completly dead by lunch...... I like that I have all 3 of my accounts (1 gmail and 2 yahoo) all in one place. But I'm not sure what its doing to my battery. doesn;t it run the same way the stock gmail app works? I have both of my yahoo accts check every hour. the gmail is set to check all the time (whatever the most frequent checkbox is) thats what Im trying to get k9 to do. I don't understand what first class and polling mean.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Having 3 email accounts syncing that often and that much is what is killing your battery. Your gmail is syncing every minute if you have it set to the lowest setting. I can't imagine you get new emails every minute, even if it is a business account. How often do you actually check your email on your phone? That is how often you should set each account to poll for new emails. Having any email program check for new emails every minute is basically like having the email program running all the time.

I have mine set to sync every 5 minutes with the same rom that you are using and my battery lasts about 2 days.

Another option may be...

to link your yahoo accounts to your Gmail and not use K9. I was unhappy with the stock email app as well. My MSN email accounts would take hours to show up and I ended trying another android email app. But I found that the best solution for me was to link my MSN accounts with Gmail. I started getting my MSN email immediately and the battery life was not impacted by checking every five minutes.

I am not knocking K9 or any other app. It's just that you have a Google android phone and the ecosystem is set up to take advantage of Gmail. You might try it.

That is...if you trust google....

If you are going to use an Android phone, yes you are going to have to put some trust in Google. But each platform has similar issues. If you are a Blackberry user, you're going to have to use BES/BIS to get the most out of that ecosystem. If you are a iPhone user, you will need to use iTunes to get the most from that ecosystem.
