Keep getting errors?

I am trying to set up my root, and when I go into bootloader to install PC36IMG.zip . it says main version is newer, update failed. What am I doing wrong?

Try This...

Simple Fast Root Method With Rooted 1.47.651.1 Stock ROM with NO ADBs...

Was what finally worked for me and I tried everything else believe me. Very simple. Only issue I had was during simple root. If your at the point where it has you go to a flash site and the flash applet doesn't load just reboot your phone and try again. Once you've followed both steps I'd recommend flashing a rom like fresh (seems to me to be the best ATM).

I tried using the simple root method, and it just sit's at step 4 and does nothing the cmd window.

OK i dunno what I am doing wrong. I have build 1.47.651.1 CL195459 release-keys . I have tried all the ways to root. and everytime, when it goes to load the pc36img.zip it allways says Update Failed. Version is newer. and never loads. I there anyone else that has run into this. I do have the unrevoked3 on my phone for the wireless teather. but I want to do more.

You're not getting the engineering hboot to install and that is because you're not getting proper root. I used Simple Root OTA and I had to try it several times to get it to work. The key is in step 3. I had to use Wi Fi to visit the site and download the flash hack. Once I did that, it worked. Prior, it kept timing out and step four (loading the engineering hboot) would fail every time.
