Keep getting notifications about high data usage

I keep getting "High mobile data usage" notification but mobile data is turned off.

The body of the note is "Google Play Store has used more data than usual".

As I kept getting these notifications, I turned data off but continue to get notified.

New to Android having come from Windows Phone.

Welcome to the forums. There's a couple of things you could try. First go to the Play Store - side panel - settings - app download preferences and and select "Over WiFi only". Also, go to settings - apps & notifications - Play Store - mobile data & WiFi and make sure that the Background data option is disabled.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you tell which app is giving you the notification? Does it say "Android System," or is it some other app that is meant to monitor data usage?
