Rooted with UnRevoked and running recovery-clockwork-1.8.1.7-supersonic.zip; used the tutorial here [TUTORIAL] IDIOT-PROOF Root Guide! NAND Unlock and ADB Update!! - xda-developers

I keep getting prompted to download and install System Upgrade 1.32.651.6 (13.14MB). I download and install. My phone opens the update and asks if I want to restart. I say yes, it goes through the restart. I see it starting to run and then I see an icon with a phone and a question mark hovering above. The phone starts up normally. When I go to software update I get prompted to install the same update again.

When downloaded via WIFI I get an error that the system update is corrupted and it asks me if I'd like to download it again.

Any ideas?

In general do you feel it's worth updating to a new ROM frequently when everything is working well? Do you feel there is a significant advantage in frequent updates?

I'm really happy with the way my phone is running.

I'm contemplating two options:

1) Flash to the newest ROM

2) Roll with what I have and uncheck the automatic update prompt. I'll wait until I hit a snag or until Froyo comes out officially and there is a smooth workflow to root.

I'm more likely to roll with 2 unless there is a huge advantage to frequent updates!

I believe that update was to fix the SD card issue, if you're not having any issues then I guess you can leave it. I'm sure any updates will be cooked in to a rooted, updated rom as they're made available. (Including the "official" froyo when it's out).

Also, if you can just flash the update to the affected files then you won't have to ruin anything you have now and get the update for the SD card. I didn't read the whole thread you linked to earlier so I'm not sure if that update only flashes the new files or re-writes the rom completely.

You can also check out titanium and backup all apps + system settings, I've done this a few times to keep my scene settings and it's worked out well.

I didn't realize how the SD card issue was effecting my use of the phone. I noticed that certain times when trying to play music the app would freeze up. I went to SD card options in settings and sure enough, 0 space available.

I took the plunge and decided to flash my phone to the latest rooted stock ROM. Smooth as a baby's bottom. Thanks for the link!
