first of all I have the Gear s2 classic. Using ifttt, I text my amazon echo shopping list to the watch using google voice. Since I am using google voice, the list can be viewed three different ways on the watch, via notification, via text, or via email. The problem is the screen with the list will not stay on screen while shopping. I can go to the display setting and enable the screen to stay on but it seems to only work for the watch face, not anything else. I have to keep navigating and reopening the list while shopping. I tried the flashlight trick but it did not work either. Is there another way to do it?

Thanks

It takes a LOT of power to keep the display turned on.

I would guess the better question to ask, is how to get back to your most recent app quickly.

That answer: From the Gear app on your phone, you can go to settings, and change the "double press" home key setting to either "last app" or to whatever app you use most for your list.

unfortunate that one must use the double press method to display most recent app used. gear2 neo had option to wake up to most recent app used. very convenient. I miss this feature the most on the gear s2.

though it takes lots of power if left on, the lost of power for the 10 to 15 of usage would not limit my usage for the rest of the day.

thanks for the double press tip - was not aware of it. though I had the watch since before christmas, I guess there is still a lot to learn about it.

I use Tasker, not IFFT, so I'm just asking - can you set IFFT so that if the active app is the one showing the shopping list, it stays as the active app and the screen stays on? (Setting screen on time up to about 24 hours is trivial on Tasker, so is triggering on the app that's active.)

(Oops - is IFFT even running on the watch, or just the phone? Someone should make something like one if them for phones.)

Try this free app from the Gear Store
