Keep the M or go for the Maxx HD???

This Thursday will end my 14 day trial period for the M. I have to decide whether to keep it or turn it back in and wait for the Maxx HD.

I am coming from the Thunderbolt so from a performance perspective the M beats it hands down. I like the size and the battery ALMOST gets me through a full day of pretty heavy use. But I have a feeling that I will pass the 14 day return period and then see/hold a Maxx HD and will realize my mistake. Bigger/better screen and mondo battery... Etc...

Although I am not a fan of bigger devices. I left the Thunderbolt for the Galaxy Nexus and went back to the Thunderbolt.

Anyone else conflicted??

Thoughts, considerations, comments, suggestions???

There will always be a newer/better device. I think you need to ask yourself if the M fails to meet your needs in any way.

Personally, I think some cell phone specs have gotten out of hand. Does anyone really need an HD screen? No. The consumerism in the world may make someone think so, but they don't.

I have been using my phone less than I used to when I got my DX. I travel less and have a tablet for media. That helped me realize I didn't need a "high-end" phone. Heck, the M has over 25% more pixels than my DX, the screen is brighter, the phone is way more responsive and fast, and the battery lasts a lot longer. Not bad for an "entry-level" device.

It's completely up to you. Given everything that was said about the new Razr lineup, the M sure does look like a device that can and will hold its ground for a while. Phones are always going to keep getting better. If you're content with M, stick with it. If you can go back to your TB and last just another few more months until the new holiday lineup of phones get announced, then go back to your TB and wait. Personally, I have the Razr Maxx, but will be passing it along to my brother, who has a DX. I'm fine with my phone at the moment, but I am definitely looking forward the new Nexus lineup. Good luck with your decision! Hope I helped somewhat :)

I am still confused on why you went from the Galaxy Nexus back the the Thunderbolt......I would wait for the Maxx to come out and try it out n person in a store, then if you like the size then you can make a good guilt free decision. Buyers remorse is a b&tch.

I just really did not like the way the Nexus fit in my hand.

I have another upgrade that I may burn and get the Maxx HD if I just have to have it.

It's really impatience that'll ruin your decision. Wait for the maxxhd, THEN decide which one you really want.

I like the look of the. "M" quite a bit. I would not be surprised to see it cut into Razr sales & make it & the Maxx Moto's go-to models. I opt for the battery (Maxx) but would likely go for the "M" over a standard Razr.

I have had my M for a couple weeks now and never killed the battery. I use all of the M's "rules" to conserve battery and usually have 40% battery left at the end of the day. My Bionic would make it 1/2 way thru the day before shutting down. Love this phone.

Is there a big difference in display quality between the maxx and M?

Maxx HD, Yes. Normal Maxx, probably not.

Great. The off contract price is insane. If the M is the same as the maxx HD. Then I'll stick with the maxx for now. Plus I can return my M to verizon and buy a maxx for an excellent price.

Maxx and M are similar.

Maxx HD and M are not. The HD is a 720p HD screen that measures 4.7" compared go the lower end Amoled 4.3" of the M.

I'll more than likely go with the maxx then. I'm sure something HD++ will be out soon anyways.

Had one in my hands today, I can't see enough of a difference in the screens to make a difference for me, but damn it is too big for me... The only draw for me is the battery and I am getting all day use out of the M so I am sticking with the M...

I messed with the M while I was buying my MAXX HD and I must say the difference is pretty big. The screen on the M was too much like my RAZR Maxx and by saying that I mean not the best looking screen. It's not a bad screen but it's no RAZR HD. The size is nice as I'm not a fan of smaller screens but I think 4.7" is the limit for me. 5" may be a bit too bit and tablet territory if you ask me.

I had the M for one day. I was really amazed with the display and the battery life. Its was pure awesome. I like bigger screened devices. Right now I'm using the RAZR maxx and its awesome as well. I would have kept the M...until the maxx HD came out. :D but I needed the money so I floated back to the maxx.

Just out of curiosity, how did you end up swinging more than one upgrade?

Just out of curiosity, how did you end up swinging more than one upgrade?

I have 5 phones on my account. Two smartphones with unlimited data, one smartphone with tiered data, and 2 lines that have feature phones on them that I really don't use, we'll my two nine year olds use them. The lines are staggered so that there is usually an account with an upgrade every 6-8 months. I upgrade a feature phone line and get the M or whatever I want and then do a customer initiated equipment exchange, moving the new device to my unlimited data line. I put the feature phone back on the other line and drop the tiered data they put on when I upgraded. If a feature phone line doesn't have an upgrade, I just transfer an upgrade from another line and get what I want.

You can do this too... Just add a new line of service... Then move the new device to a number with the unlimited data and find a feature phone on Craiglist and drop the data package on the new line. It will cost you $10/Month but you get a new device at the lower price.
