Keep YouTube app disabled? It keeps re-enabling.

Hi everyone, I am facing the exact same problem with the Google app. It doesn't matter if I just disable the whole app or if I uninstall or updates, delete data and then disable just a bare-bone app, it re-enables itself within hours, sometimes after a day. Anyone found a solution? Thanks

Hi, welcome to AC!
Which device?
Have you disabled play store from automatically updating apps?

What is the reason you trying to disable or Uninstall the update to the Google app?

I was using the Google app (search) for news which showed under the search bar. But a few weeks ago they changed the news for different type and I don't find it good for me anymore so I wanted to delete the app but because it is built in I tried to disable it (it took 1 GB of space). Now it takes just 60 MB or something like that because I'm not using it so it's not so important, now just annoying lol.

Try this app for few bucks , it can disable pretty much anything

Keep in mind that the Google app is an essential app for the whole Google ecosystem, and is needed for way more than just news. Are you certain you're not just thinking of the Google News app, or the Discover feed that you can turn on for Google website on your mobile browser?

Thanks for the tip, 5 GBP is not a high price but I still wouldn't pay for an option to really disable an app even if the cost was in cents. I think it's a bug and it is Google who is supposed to correct this, not me as an end user. It only relates to Google apps so it certainly is their fault.

You can also turn off the Discover feed if you don't want to be exposed to the news there. Open your Google app, tap More>Settings>General, and turn off the Discover toggle.

Thanks for another tip, I appreciate it.. I couldn't put Google app to deep sleeping apps so I just put it in standard sleeping apps list and I think this will do it for me. It's not a big problem, just an annoyance.
Gotcha , your welcome!
