What kernals are you guys using to improve battery life? I heard the Matr1x kernal is a good one.

I'm running Franco nothing but good things from him. Used it on my Gnex and on my Mako, if you decide to use his, he has an app in the play store.

I'm using faux123's kernel with the Cyanogen official rom

I'm also using faux and aokp nightly. I'm over 20 hours easy on battery.

Franco. Been using his kernel since my Nexus S. I've tried others, but always go back to his.

Just booted Franco's latest. Been getting 4+ hours Screen On Time easy (21 hrs total use) on previous builds, and can even hit 6 hrs if I deplete the battery completely. Makes me sad his talents are restricted to a handful of devices (mainly Nexi).

He only devs for nexus devices now, right?

I just installed his newest one, r20. When it was installing it said something about installing a virus. Now I'm assuming it's a joke. Has he always done that? Anyways I'm on stock and haven't had it long enough to notice anything.

Hmm I didn't see that when I installed it

I'm using twrp and the newest kernel r20 if that matters. Install that one and see what it says. It definitely said it.

Franco is a jokester. Its in his install script which displays when flashing. Its a joke. No worries. :)

So many devs love to joke. AOKP, Franco, etc. It's interesting but weird at the same time. Anyway, +1 on Franco r21. I was on stock rom stock kernel ever since launch. Performance was great and battery life was miserable. I am now on stock rom franco kernel r21. Performance seems even better and battery life improved dramatically. So yes, stock rom is fine, but please at least try out r21.

Anyone try matr1x kernel?

I'm on that right now, I have noticed improved battery time and no hit on performance or anything else. I'm considering trying Franco's though since everybody here mentions it, wonder if it's best to re-calibrate the battery when you keep ROMs but stitch kernels?
