Keyboard active behind notification shade

[Android Central Question]

Example. In the middle of replying to a text... I get a notification that I wish to swipe away. I pull the shade down and swipe it away. It doesn't swipe away. Rather, I swipe a word into the text reply, even though I can't see the keyboard. I have to go back and hide the keyboard and then I can swipe the notification away.

LG V30. It happens with any keyboard, currently using GBoard.

My notifications typically don't go all the way down to the level of the keyboard -- are you double-swiping the notification panel down so that the full Quick Toggles are showing, or are you only swiping down once?

Both, it doesn't matter either way. I've tried both.

I just tried safe mode, and everything worked fine. So I'm supposing it's caused by an app?

Yep, that must be the case. The problem is trying to figure out which app. If you don't already have some suspicion, then all you can do is uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away. If this is something you only recently noticed, then start with the apps you most recently installed (or were most recently updated).
