Keyboard and home button not working during phone call

Hi, I am new to the forum. I have a note 4 and have noticed that I can not use the home button or the keyboard while I am on a phone call. I can use the app button in the back button, and even the touch screen, but cannot use the keyboard or home button. Anyone else? Any fixes?

Found this and it seems to work:

1) Go to your drop down tool box menu
2) Select car mode to turn it on
3) Exit out of car mode
4) Return to the drop down tool box menu to turn off the car mode.
5) Try calling your voicemail now and test

I just solved it. Clear the cache partition by following the steps below:
-turn off the device
- hold down both the home button and the volume up button
- turn on the device while holding the two buttons
- select the option to format the cache
- the phone will restart and the feature will work

I know this post is old, but I am having the same problem, and nothing is working!!! I even do a factory restore and it was okay for acouple weeks but it happened all of a sudden again!

Although....I have noticed that if I am using the phone and I receive a call, all good. It's when the phone was locked and I received the call...I can switch apps, but not do anything. I wonder if that is a security thing....?

Okay so i tested that out ( receiving call with the phone locked, opposed to it unlocked) and i have the same problem!!!! It works if the call is received while unlocked.

Its not design, because i use the home button to back out of the call screen, and a new feature of the phone is to have the little circle or whatever on the screen to show your on a call. Also ive text while on a call so the keyboard works

Agreed, it usnt design. I have had this phone almost 2 years and only had this problem for a month or so.

I apologize. I thought I mentioned this somewhere along the way. I am referring to my galaxy s4. I am having the same problem as mentioned in this forum except it is happening with a galaxy S4.

Quick update. It seems to have fixed itself during one of the updates. In fact....I forgot about the issue...and this thread. U good, Marisa?
