I used to have an iPhone and am having a tough time adjusting to the keyboard on the Samsung S3. The keys are narrower than what I am used to.
Is there a really good app with the following:
1] Ability to adjust the width, and placement of keys on the keyboard or size of keys.
2] Helpful predictive typing with good word suggestions

Thanks very much.

I like Google's Keyboard. You can't alter the key sizes, but there is less garbage on it than Samsung's.

Hacker keyboard is good and free but I like Google keyboard the best

Swiftkey was my keyboard of choice before I switched over to Kii. At the time, it didn't have word prediction for a lot of apps such as browsers. Does it work for all apps now?

Yeah, there is really nothing better than Swiftkey out there right now. It was the first Android Keyboard that made me stop lusting for the iPhone keyboard.

For variety of keyboard layouts, I like Kii the most. I personally like the landscape 13-key split layout as I can type with fewer errors on this layout. The auto-correct and text prediction is not as good as other keyboards I have tried. It also has gesture typing where you can slider your finger across the keyboard without lifting it off the screen. The gesture typing is OK and not as good as Swype.

For the best text prediction and auto correction, it's SwiftKey. I would be using this if it had a better keyboard layout. I keep hitting the space bar and shift key by accident on this keyboard and make many more keying errors. If you find this keyboard and its layouts comfortable to type on, I would highly recommend this. Gesture typing is supported and is OK.

For the best gesture typing experience, go with Swype. No other keyboard I have used is better for gesture typing than Swype. It has a great feature where if you drag your finger above the keyboard as you gesture type, it will capitalise the letter. It makes it easy to capitalise a word without having to hit the shift key. Auto-correct and text prediction is also very good and almost as good as Swiftkey. It has some more layouts in the recent update including a split landscape keyboard. The latest update has some lag when typing in landscape.

Another SwiftKey user here. It's on sale in the Play Store right now, so you might want to consider buying it now if you are looking for an alternative.

Seems like swiftkey usually gets most of the votes around here. I used it for a long time as well until Google keyboard came around.

With Google keyboard I can swipe so sloppy and it understands the best. Results is really fast typing. My choice for sure.

I do like Kii keyboard too for all the layout choices but you have to swipe more accurately.

I am coming from windows phone and the keyboard on Windows Phone is great. The Autocorrect is never an issue. I want something similar and swift key is the best so far but not even close to the Windows phone keyboard in terms of the Autocorrect portion.

Google Keyboard and the stock LG keyboard have this weird bug when you back space to a word it doubles the word.

I don't have this on my Moto X. Cleared cache on either keyboard?

I vote SwiftKey for sure. I need to type and swype in French and in English and it is so seamless it is awesome also the keyboard is so fast and accurate much better than the apple keyboard I came from just four days ago

I always used Google's Keyboard really liked it on the GNex and never saw any reason to change. But recently tried SwiftKey and fell in love with it. It does seem to predict my words better and stuff, which is great.
