Keyboard not working on the telephone

Got a nexus 6 running lollipop. When I'm on a call and switch to doing something else i can't get the keyboard to pop up in any app. Driving me a bit mad.

Anyone else experiencing this problem or know how to fix it thanks. Rick

Maybe your phone resource usage is high or maybe it is a bug
