I know the Nexus 7 Tablet hasn't shipped yet, but does anyone know if the keyboard in landscape mode is big enough that one can type on it like on a laptop? Or is it too small, so that one has to use the thumbs like on a smartphone?

I'm gonna see if my micro USB to female USB works with a keyboard.

It's something you have to get used to; a little but of both.

So far I haven't been able to get any apps to go in landscape mode

I'm thinking of selling my iPad 2 and using the money to buy the Nexus 7. As you know, the keyboard in landscape mode on the iPad is almost the same size as one on a laptop. The screen on the Nexus is 7" compared to 9" on the iPad. Obviously, the keyboard on the Nexus (in landscape mode) has to be smaller. The question is, is it too small to type on it like on a laptop?

Screen rotation is locked by default, it looks like a vibrate only icon on the notification bar.

It is way to small for me to type on that way. The landscape keyboard on the nexus is about equivalent to the portrait keyboard on an iPad.

I have one of those mini bluetooth keyboards lying around in my tech junk pile, and I got it paired with the Nexus 7 very easily. Basically just turn on Bluetooth, make the Nexus 7 discoverable, and it generated a pin code to be entered on the keyboard.

The mini keyboard isn't big enough to be useful -- more of a proof of concept -- but its good to know its that easy. Now I have to decide if I need an external keyboard situationally, or if the native virtual keyboard in landscape is good enough.
