Keyboard problems

Has anybody had problems with the keyboard regularly failing to open when prompted?

For me it's only since lollipop was updated last month. I use SwiftKey and once or twice a day when I click on a text field, it sometimes fails to show at all. Nothing I do seems to resolve this other than a phone restart

Has anybody experienced this or have any solutions? Thanks!

I have had it occasionally since getting lollipop. I'm using Google keyboard. Only happens to me say once a week so not frequent but only way to fix I've found is to restart the device

Yeah it's been happening a lot on Swiftkey for me. But I just need to click on the text field again and it will show up.

Thanks for the replies and feedback on this looks like maybe incompatibility between swift key and lollipop on the m8 perhaps?

Once the keyboard fails to show, clicking on the text field again doesn't work for me and the only way to resolve is via a restart

I got the same problem after the Lollipop update. But in my case I am using the default keyboard.

Based on that, the issue is a keyboard bug in Lollipop for sure, and got nothing to do with third party apps incompatiblity.

I get the same using swift key.. but even if I try switching to the default keyboard the issue is not resolved unless I restart the phone.

One time, I did leave the phone for about 30mins and come back to it and suddenly the keyboard was ok?

I have the same issue. Has anyone tried a factory reset yet?

I have the problem and I factory reset after updating to lollipop so not sure if resetting would help unless its a bug that develops over time

Yeah I had that happen to me a lot when Lollipop was first released (albeit on custom ROMs), and I couldn't find a fix for it; it disappeared for me, however, when I updated to 5.0.2 (SkyDragon V7.0).
