Droid X...

Whenever I'm typing a text message it seems the keyboard press cannot keep up with me typing. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I can do to correct this? I've tried a battery pull and it still appears to be slow.

Thanks in advance.

I wasn't so much typing faster than it could keep up with.....but I definitely noticed a little slight lag. First I cleared the cache by turning it off and turning it on while pressing the home button. Then moved the volume rocker to wipe cache pressed the camera button then rebooted. Then I took error correction off and it keeps up with me fine now.

I'm probably doing something wrong, but when the screen came back up after following the above instructions, all I got was the "!" in a triangle above the Droid character. Never seemed to go forward...what did I screw up?

tap the android with the ! and you should see it go to the next screen to perform the wipe.

OK - I feel like an idiot. I've tried tapping on the android, on the "!" and elsewhere on the screen, but nothing happens.

I'm sorry......I just did it myself......give it about a minute, let it stay on that screen for a moment as it boots into the next screen.....Im giving you advice I got from reading through the forums :o

Turning off error correction probably has more to do with reducing lag than anything else. You could also try a different keyboard. Have you tried Swype? I hated at at first, because it's so contrary to what you're used to, but after sticking with for a day, there is nothing faster.

The step I was missing was to hit the "Search" button...then the wipe cache, etc. menu comes up...

How long does it take to get it to come off the android with the exclamation mark? Cause I'm trying to clear the cache and it won't go anywhere I can select stuff

Power off your phone using the power button

While holding the home button press the power button to turn phone on

When screen with android and exclamation mark appears press the search button

use the volume rocker to scroll down and then the menu button to choose ok

I've noticed a slight lag too but only after the recent update. I'll try clearing the cache and see what happens.

racin,
Thanks for the completely written sentence/thought/directions. Double spacing/simple to get. Downhome.

Is the lag in every instance of text entry or only in some? I used to experience lag when I typed in a text field while on the internet. But the update got rid of that.

My experince was everytime I was typing. It happened when typing an email, searching for contacts, texting and so on.
