I have an employee that works for me, her Droid keyboard is much softer to type with than mine. The keyboard I have is a raised keyboard where hers is flat. Its really a pain in the *$$* to type with. We got both phones about the same time.

Does anybody know why this is?

How can I get the same type of keyboard?

Thanks-

I'm sorry, this post made me smile a little bit lol. Its funny that you want the keyboard to be even more flatter than it already is.

Her keys on her phone are so much easier to push in when texting. My keyboard takes alot more pressure on the fingers to type.

I was just pointing out the differences in the two keyboards.

Could you have possibly gotten a Droid 2 by accident?? lol The description of you phone sounds like the keyboard on the Droid 2?

It has been known that some Droids have the more raised keyboards while most have the flatter ones.

It all depends on where the droids were manufactured. There are multiple different locations. This is why some droids might be slightly different. For example, this is why certain droids experience better results with certain roms than other droids

I'm gonna have to say that the reason that some droids have raised keyboards (seemingly) while others do not has never been determined. Most swore (and tried to show evidence) that it was the time the droid was created - that motorola created a second build. This has been proven completely wrong. Others have chalked it up to manufacturing plants, but there is no proof behind this. Others tie it to use and that the raised keys occur over time with use, but that seems contradictory to what you're saying (since yours are raised and you dont like it, i assume you haven't typed all that much on it).

In any event, there's nothing you can do about it, other than buying a used or new one and checking the keyboard first.

I think your right... both phones were purchased at the same time.

Who knows!

Thanks for the feedback.

I got my droid a few months ago and the keyboard was completely flat right out of the box. Today, my keyboard is more "bubbly" than ever and makes it more difficult to press the keys. I've resorted to android keyboard. I wonder if the keyboard would warrant an exchange since I have insurance on my Verizon plan.
