I like Smartkeyboard because it has the 10 key text pad and is very customisable. I've tried Swiftkey and that is better for full screen typing though. Smartkeyboard has an infinitely better dictionary management system though (dictionary, not text prediction).

Android doesn't have an autotext function like the BlackBerry I'm moving from?? Ouch, I just figured that was pretty standard these days.

It's a feature that believe it or not, majority of BlackBerry users didn't even know about. Even Apple only quietly added into iOS5 last year. So nope, not on Android and have had to rely on third party keyboards such as Smart Keyboard. Personally, I prefer Swiftkey more because it seems to be more accurate and they have the autotext feature listed as "will add" on their forums where people can suggest features so hopefully that's coming soon.

I still don't get it. As mentioned I've been loving Smart Keyboard, bought it quite some time ago. Yesterday, after reading all these positive Swiftkey 3 comments I downloaded the trial and gave it a run through. Just super fast typing sentences without even looking or caring about mistakes. In the end I would look at the completed sentences and see how well it typed out... Smart Keyboard literally blew Swiftkey 3 out of the water with accuracy. I dunno, I guess whatever works for others, but I setup Swiftkey according to their pre-setup questions and made sure to choose their option for fast typing relying on auto correct and it still lost significantly.

Thanks to your post I tried Smart Keyboard. Holy crap it's good. I've tried them all. But you're right, whatever works for you should be the one. I think I'll be sticking with this one for awhile.

I absolutely love Swiftkey 3. I've had it since swiftkey X (the older version) and it's a pretty awesome keyboard.

New Android user here, I quickly got frustrated with the built-in keyboard on my S3 and I'd just read about SwiftKey 3's release and 50% sale, I tried it out and love it. So another +1 from me for SwiftKey
