keyboard wont go away!

New S4....after sending text, my keyboard stays on screen and is in my way.
can I change this????? Extremely annoying!

Hold down the menu button and see if that works. Going into menu>system settings>applications>keyboard and force close the app.

Otherwise, you should reboot the device if the above doesn't fix it.

I should have been more clear.....after I send a text, in order to clear the keyboard I have to press the back arrow every time.
My former android (also a samsung) did not require this.... its annoying while carrying on a conversation because it blocks the text windows!

unfortunately that is normal on S4. I don't understand why samsung /android doesn't copy that part of iOS. All you have to do there is grab keyboard and slide down and its gone.

SwiftKey allows you to slide the keyboard down. I don't have the S4 but it sounds like an issue with the default Touchwiz keyboard. Something this should be a part of the basic keyboard function.
