Having had the HTC One for a few days now (UK based), I have to say how impressed I am with the stock keyboard. This is my first Android device, having used QWERTY BlackBerrys for a number of years, and as much as I'm finding the transition to a virtual keyboard tough, in my limited experience so far I'm rather preferring the stock keyboard (which I think is redesigned for Sense 5) to SwiftKey, which I initially rushed to download.

If you're already a SwiftKey user then you'll probably want to stick with that, but if anyone is wondering about the quality and usability of the stock keyboard then I have to say, it's really pretty good.

This is the most important thing for me as most keyboards don't auto correct well and I was also looking for opinions or recommendations on a good Swype type keyboard since I mainly use one hand texting

It is a good keyboard for stock, but I find swiftkey better at auto correct

sent from my awesome HTC One B-)

I started out with the stock keyboard, then began using SwiftKey, and I downloaded the new (free) Google keyboard yesterday to try it out. The new Google keybiard seems fine, but for now at least I am going to stick with SwiftKey - for the reaon that SwiftKey has an option to make the keyboard LARGER (taller) which I find useful for my tendency to fatfinger. I did not see that optuion on the Google keyboard and it felt small to me after using the TALL option on SwiftKey.

Check out Kii Keyboard. Its my number one choice after trying all of them. I use the ICS theme and resize the keyboard so it looks and feels like the stock android keyboard. It also has a ton of other customizing options and can be set up to swipe if that's your preference.

This is the exact situation I found myself in. I was a loyal BB user since '07 and only used BB devices with physical QWERTY keyboards till I purchased the One about a month ago.

I agree with this 100%. I am sure SwiftKey and some of the other keyboard apps are great but for me the Sense 5 keyboard with the trace option is working great.
