Keyborad sount will not turn off.....?

Running Android 9. For some reason the keyboard sound will not turn off when I select the mute keyboard mute switch in settings....? The only way to turn it off is to turn the ring sound all the way....?

Which phone, and which keyboard app? You're going to the keyboard app's settings, and not the system settings, correct?
