KIES

I have not seen much talk about using Kies for backups etc, is this still a good program???

For me, the program is pretty good for backups. It's the other functions, like restoring the ROM that the program falls short.

Kies is exceptionally good at restoring the phone to a "last known" working profile.

It will restore everything on the phone to the way it was including the apps you had on it.

also the pictures, but I don't do that, takes way too long to store the pictures, and you don't need them on the phone anyway.... your choice.

You have the option to select "what you want" to be backed up.

However, none of the backup methods for Android will restore the Data created by the apps. That is lost.

You can recover your Contacts and Messages, but that is about it.
