So Kindle updated their app today to 3.0 to better work with tablets. Problem is it force closes when i try to download a book or open a book.

Anyone else having this issue?

(thankfully had a backup from last night to restore to older version)

Have same problem, running HC preview 04 off uSD card on Nook Color.
App won't open if positioned in landscape. In portrait, App opens but closes when I try to open any book. Version 2 had been working fine.

it does work on my Ally running Velocity without a problem.

I am running HC preview 04 on eMMC on my NC, forgot to mention that.

NLinNC try reverting back to 2.0 kindle app, not sure how to do that, the $ spent for Titanium Backup was worth it for this morning alone.

I'm also having this issue on my Nook Color that runs Honeycomd from the microSD card. I have the new Kindle on my Samsung Fascinate, and it runs fine. I found a web site that still had Kindle for Android 2.04 and downloaded that, basically getting my Nook Color back to where it was before. Any ideas as to why Kindle 3.0 doesn't work on our Nook Colors?

I am running a rooted stock nook with firmware 1.1. I have updated the kindle app and have not had any problems.

I am running Phiremod V6 and have had no problems with the updated app. Maybe whatever they did to optimize it for Honeycomb isn't playing nicely with the not quite fully built HC that is running on your Nook?

Luckily, I did a ADB backup of all my app's to my PC. Did an ADB Push of my 2.04 version and all ok again.

I have Titanium Backup installed, did a backup of all my app's to the uSD card couple weeks ago, tried for 1st time to restore an app (Kindle 2.04) and it spun forever saying restore in progress, but never finished. That's my next task to figure out why it doesn't work....

Having problems with my nook color and the kindle app. I'm running the HC preview 04 on eMMC. The app starts, and downloads books with no problem. When you try to open a book the app crashes. I just got off the phone with Amazon tech support, 2nd ter tech. She expained to me that the Kindle app is not compatible with the hardware inside the color nook.

Sounds like BS to me....

roll back to previous version wit TiBi, i'm waiting for a new release before i try to upgrade again.

I'll agree does sound like BS to me too.

I updated to the new HC build released on XDA and the newest version of the kindle app does work.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem whereby you cannot open Kindle books after you've converted your NookColor to the Honeycomb preview ?

outside of going back a version from backup i haven't found a way yet. the new versions of honeycomb out over at XDA-Dev will run the new version but it acts chunky, cuts of pages and such. best i can give you sorry.:(

kindle app vs. nook appp

Having the nook app for rooted nook(cm7.02), would someone tell the advantages, if any, of using the kindle app.
thanks

preference really. I used the nook app on my android phone and one of the biggest issues the nook app had with android was it wasn't syncing. The kindle app was smaller and worked.
