Hello,

I understand that you'd like to use Google Chromecast with your Kindle Fire HD.

I've checked and confirmed that currently Kindle Fire HD does not have the feature to connect with Google Chromecast. I'm sorry for any disappointment caused in this regard.

As per your concern I've forwarded your comments to the Kindle development team and let them know that you are interested in this feature.

The Kindle development team will carefully review your comments and consider your feedback as we plan further improvements.

I understand that this feature would have made our Kindle more efficient and convenient to use. Customer feedback like yours helps us continue to improve the service we provide, and we're glad you took time to write to us.

We look forward to see you soon.

Best regards,
Mustafa

How do I use my Kindle Fire HD with Google Chromecast that is attached to my HDTV? Is there an APP that I need to load or is it NOT supported yet?

So.... has anyone tested it?

I thought the Netflix app was the same on both and I realy thought the app/server controlled the chromecast and the hardware wasn't important

Edit for clarification:

I am assuming you would use a PC to set up chrome cast on the wi-fi network

Devlyn16, you are correct in that the Netflex apps works from the Kindle Fire HD and the Chromecast was set up using a laptop PC. I have it running on a Sony HDTV over ATT U-Verse with the WI-FI built in to the RG. Both sound and picture are excellent when the Netflex show is cast to the Chromecast. Thanks for your response.

The Google Cast app for Nexus 7 works fine for Netflix/HuluPlus/YouTube, but you can't cast anything from its browser, even if you use the Chrome browser. You need a PC laptop for that (or a desktop in the same room as the TV). It's been speculated that this is because of the heavy CPU drain it causes. Hopefully Google will find a solution soon, especially for their own tablets...

The Google Cast app does not actually cast anything. You only need it once to set up Chromecast. It is the actual apps that do the casting once they have been updated, which the YouTube, HuluPlus and Netflix apps have been.

Having said that, I'll go out on a limb and speculate that Google will eventually update the Cast app to include a small browser feature to cast with. I don't really think they will update the Chrome mobile app for that, but i have been wrong before. :)

Mine works fine but then again I am running Jelly Bean on mine. Figured with the Kindle App, there really was not need to keep the Kindle OS. I dont care about not having access to Prime Video.

How do you change the operating system? I downloaded 1mobile app and was able to install the chromecast app and connect it. I downloaded Youtube and Netflix are working fine, however Hulu and HBO there is no chromecast symbol. I uninstalled them and tried to install from 1mobile and just get a parse error.
