How to Root Galaxy Note 3! | GalaxyNote3Root.com

I used the TWRP version for Verizon on the website. That, of course, is different than your Note 3 edition. It was noted in this method that Knox was verified not to be tripped, and I can verify that it wasn't tripped in my device either. My counter is 0x0. I wasn't concerned about it tripping but I was certainly glad that it didn't trip. All the better.

I'm on Sprint but I think you are the first person I've ever seen that flashed a custom recovery without tripping Knox. I assume you're on 4.3 Jelly Bean. Has anyone else had success keeping Knox at 0x0 with this method?

As I said teleburst I wasn't disbelieving you its just from what I have read thought it couldn't be done. I did also mention that it's variant dependant and in that I have only read in regards to the SM-N9005.

Well done though dude, but I would imagine if you sent it in for repair and it has a custom rom that would be void anyway regardless of the counter being 0x0.

Once you flash a rom that will trip the counter anyway dude well to my knowledge?

If you write the steps down its easy.

I have never used kingo so I don't have any info or suggestions sorry dude.

I believe there's an app called triangle away that removes the counter it's worth looking into...

Oh yes there is that, not sure if it will work on every device but worth looking into.

Addressing a couple of points, it's been stated on that link and on other sites that this method doesn't trip Knox, and I've seen at least two other photos that shows this. It's certainly variant dependent. It could very well be ROM dependent as well in terms of AOSP vs TouchWiz based. As you can see, the Samsung binary is still present. I haven't checked out whether it matters because I've stuck with TW (I like being able to keep the stylus functional). If I ever decide to experiment, I'll find out if AOSP ROMs break Knox and, if they do, I'll decide then.

As for returning to service, there's no problem unrooting and returning to stock.

Yes, I'm on Jelly Bean. In fact, I'm on the Beans ROM right now. I haven't sideloaded Kit Kat. In fact, until I'm sure that FoxFi is functional in Kit Kat (that's very much an open question at this point), I won't be upgrading.

Doesn't work for the Knox counter.

Once Knox is tripped, I think that there's no way to reset it. At this point, that is. That's why there's a multi-thousand dollar bounty (and growing) for anyone who finds a way to do it.
