KingsBFS#10 is out

Yup. Working on VaelPak. I just realized that I have a rogue app. It might explain why BFS9 was so bad. Once I get this squared away I'll have a better idea about battery life. I was hoping to be able to o/c to 1228 but it still locks up. 1190 still works perfect though. No issues to report. I say go for it

I installed 10 before I went to bed.

Battery went from 95%- 15% in about 6-7 hours

Thats 0 usage. Wifi, mobile data, gps, 4g all OFF.

Only program I had running was the alarm clock using the stock analog clock widget.

Needless to say I recharged, and did nand restore back to 9.

Same here. I thought I had a rogue app. Up and awake time were both even. I installed WatchDog (awesome app) and System Panel and neither of them had any apps that really had a red flag. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. SO just out of curiosity I cleared cache, dalvik cache, and battery stats and flashed BFS8. No problems at all. Everything was back to normal. Just to be 100% sure, I cleared the same caches and battery stats, and reflashed 10. Same issue. Up and awake time were dead even. SO... I'm back to BFS8.. Did you have the same up and awake time with BFS10?

Sorry I did not look. I had to be at work early this morning and needed a stable OS asap so I quickly reflashed.

Glad to see it wasnt something I did wrong. Sad the kernel is buggy.

BTW, thanks for spreading the word about Vaelpak. Best ROM I have tried so far.

Been back on 9 for most of the day. Phone is back to being solid and great battery life.

dont take me wrong, i like king's work, but BFS#10 is really... waiting for the new kernel source open, and king's modz. Hail, King

Probably a dumb question because I've only flashed roms and not kernels, but does it wipe any data or do I need to wipe data when I flash a kernel? I'm on bsfs9 but was curious if 8 would give better battery life. I love vaelpak 2.1 and have it set up well. Don't feel like titanium backing up, etc.

When flashing kernels all you have to wipe is the cache, and dalvik cache. No need to wipe data. Btw, VaelPak 2.2 came out last night.

Hey Jerzy,

With 2.2 I know I dont have to wipe since I'm coming from 2.1, but will it automatically swap out my old KING 9 for the new HTC kernel?

Are you still using kings kernel or the new HTC one with FPS unlocked?

Thanks again

What do they mean when they said that the gpu has been edited? I know OCing the Adreno has been deemed impossible, but does this really optimize performance in things like gaming?

I was wondering about that too. The problem is (at least for me) there's something in the kernel that's sucking up recourses. The phone would always stay awake and when I ran Quadrant, nothing better than 1000. So the potential may be there, but there's something crazy going on with it. I'm back to 8 now.

* king's 11 is now live*

Peace all,

just an update...King has released kernel #11--go try it!!!

Got the tweet earlier. Gonna try it out. BFS10 was a disaster. Hopefully BFS11 is better. Gonna try CFS11 now...

Im on it already... Seems okay... my benchmarks were nothing incredible though...

Ahh. I'm not surprised about that. Aren't the BFS kernels the better performing ones? I think I'm gonna go back to bfs8 YET AGAIN. I tried 9 out and I went through two batteries yesterday in Atlantic City. Had PERFECT full bars the entire time. Hopefully 11 is better. He tweeted a while ago saying that the problems with bfs10 isn't the kernel it's whatever rom you're using. Personally I think that's bull**** because I tried that kernel on 4 roms and they all did the same.

In #11 he said he found some nasty bugs

but the dude doesnt have an Evo man so he's just coding this and people are testing it
