kit kat 4.4.2 download?

For a few days now I've received this box with a downside arrow which I will not click if I can help it.
I've asked Virgin Mobile tech support and the rep would only say it's a software update.
My friend n others have downloaded 4.4.2 only to have many of their programs disappear.

You can click on it and it will tell you specifically what the update is and you'll have to agree to start the install....if you don't want it, don't accept it.
