No, not by the amount of bars that I have, by the strength of the 4g signal. It seems like its constantly switching between 3g and 4g a lot more frequently.

As far as battery life retuning to normal after a fee days, that's not happening here, I've had the update for about 2 weeks now...

Go look at the moto x/nexus 5 threads here, on XDA, or on moto's own forums. Lots of complaints about battery life. I returned my x because of it (a full charge lasted only about 70% the time it did when I was on 4.2.2--16+ hours to 10). The main culpret seems to be google services on kk. They keep the phone awake a lot. I think 4.4.2 addressed some of this. I'm hoping the maxx goes straight to 4.4.2.

For the radio? I don't think so. Radio firmware will definitely not get worse for mobile.

Any new code has the potential to make things worse. Testing should find it, but doesn't always. Even something that improves 90% of devices could negatively affect the rest.

These battery issues seam Motorola specific.

I've got KitKat on my Nexus 5, HTC One, and Nexus 7. The battery life improvement on the HTC One has been nothing short of amazing. The battery life on the Nexus 5 isn't fantastic, but considering the 1080 LCD display and the small battery, it's good.

I'm still waiting for KitKat on my Droid Maxx, and suspect the lack of rollout since initial reports means there are issues to address.

Also, enough with "you're not supposed to talk about the soak test" comments; some of us want to hear them and unless you're Motorola it's not your worry what a tester says...

For those that have had KitKat for awhile now, has the worsened battery life you experienced immediately after upgrading to 4.4 gotten better after a week or so of usage?

I know I've posted this in another thread, but my battery life has been anywhere from the same as Jellybean to as much as 1% per hour worse. So, with JB I consistently ended the day around 60% battery life left after 17-18 hours or so, since the update about 4 weeks ago my phone ends up around 40%-60% battery left. Most of the time it's just under 50%.

I don't know if it's KitKat or something else (there was an update to Google Play Services that many people on multiple phones were reporting battery draining issues; there is a new version rolling out but it hasn't hit my phone yet.) I did a factory data reset after about 11 days and battery life was no different.

This could be just me and my particular mix of apps and use, of course.

Interesting, thanks guys. I just downloaded KitKat today. I am not noticing any difference in battery life yet, but I am a bit worried since everyone else seems to be saying battery life has gotten significantly worse with 4.4. I am curious to see how it does after a full charge and normal useage. Today was a little bit difference because I downloaded 4.4 and then had to redo my homescreens.
