KitKat is Underwhelming

First off, from reviews and videos I've seen, KitKat seems pretty good on the Nexus 5. So I was really looking forward for the update on my Nexus 7.

And the update didn't leave me disappointed. Oh no, that's too nice. The update felt like getting punched in the face and left in the gutter. Google skimped out on all the best KitKat features for the Nexus 7 update. Only three things are different: The white theme, immersive mode on Play Books, and full album cover art on the lock screen while playing music. All the other cool features are for phones only. So I'm not important, then?

I've waited weeks for KitKat. Considering how much hype was surrounding it, I was extremely excited. So yeah... thanks for giving me the middle finger Google.

I hope there's another KitKat version in the works that gives tablet users the same features as phone users. I'm not sure what Google was thinking but I hope it was just a big fluke because otherwise they totally bollocksed KitKat.

If you want the Google Experience Launcher, see here: How to Install and Use the Google Experience Launcher on Any Android Device

In my opinion, Android as an OS has evolved to such a point that quantum leaps are no longer absolutely necessary, and perhaps detrimental in the bigger picture--just look at what happened with iOS7. OS updates shouldn't necessarily mean huge in-your-face changes. A lot of the changes with KitKat seem to be under the hood--check out this changelog for developers: Android KitKat | Android Developers

Personally, I don't care if the interface looks about the same, as long as performance and efficiency continue to improve.

I tried with that launcher..but it starts lagging..but it looked clean simple ..that's y waiting for official if coming...but as long as performance improves I m happy..just had been good if had launcher..

I think with the introduction of Android Run Time, we haven't seen what KitKat can do, because apps are still using Dalvik to run.

My whole N7 lagged with the launcher. Not worth it in my opinion
