I generally do not use lock screens, I would rather just hit the button and have it take me straight to the home screen.

I updated to Kitkat this morning, and ever since then even though the setting to have no lock screen is set....it makes me swipe to unlock every time.

Anyone else experiencing this issue ? Am I missing something ?
I am using Nova Launcher if that helps.

Ridiculous if you ask me, I hate a lock screen...

I have an app for that: No Lock Screen in the Playstore. Try that, it's worked on every android phone I've had. I thnk it's free too. Just turn it on then hide it in the app list along with all the Verizon bloatware.

Yea, I've used it in the past, just installed it but, my point is, I shouldn't have to use an app for this when, in the previous version, it wasn't needed...

Even if you are ok with the lock screen, you can show a lock screen widget anymore on the main lock screen. You have to swipe it over to the main lock screen to see it. Why wouldn't I just swipe up to see my widget on my home screen instead.

Thanks I absolutely forgot about that app, have used it before with success. I tried it this morning and it works !

Thanks for the reminder.

Hey, I've mentioned this on a lot of other posts, Twitter, Web forums, here, Verizon, Sprint, Google Play edition, etc. It has to do with the fact that they built in the widget mode to the update. In the past if you changed to Widget Mode, the lock screen stayed. Same for lockscreen wallpaper. You can add a widget or remove a widget, but the mode is always on. Passcodes, pattern locks, pin locks, etc, can be on or off too. Even then, widget mode always set. I don't like that, and hopefully the modify it.
