Samsung SM-A536U - about three years old

this device is getting older and crankier. now, in some evenings, it stops working, and I get a message that it can't do anything because it has "no sim card."

Of course it has a SIM card, I didn't remove the SIM card!

does this mean the card has gone bad & I have to replace it?

Or the whole phone itself is buggy and I should just get a newer model?

sometimes I restart the whole unit and then sometimes that works. But sometimes... not!

help! any suggestions?

First, try removing the SIM card, and make sure there's no dust or other debris in the SIM slot. If it still has problems when you reinsert it, then it certainly could be a faulty SIM. In that case, contact your carrier for a replacement SIM.

yes! I found an article / video that suggested that. I just pulled it out, slipped it out of the teeny-weeny case, then put it back in, and yes, I have NOT received that error message.

(I think I may upgrade to a back market android galaxy fold phone ... I do love the fold phone idea, making your phone into a little mini tablet...)

thanks for feedback!
